Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is the most common degenerative disease of the motor neuron system.
Alternative Names
Lou Gehrig's disease; ALS; Upper and lower motor neuron disease; Motor neuron disease
Causes
In about 10% of cases, ALS is caused by a genetic defect. In other cases, the cause is unknown.
In ALS, nerve cells (neurons) die, and can no longer send messages to muscles. This eventually leads to muscle weakening, twitching, and an inability to move the arms, legs, and body. The condition slowly gets worse. When the muscles in the chest area stop working, it becomes hard or impossible to breathe on one's own.
Symptoms include:
-Difficulty breathing
-Difficulty swallowing
-Head drop due to weak spinal and neck muscles
-Muscle cramps
-Muscle weakness that slowly gets worse
-Commonly involves one part of the body first, such as the arm or hand
-Eventually leads to difficulty lifting, climbing stairs, and walking
-Paralysis
-Speech problems, such as a slow or abnormal speech pattern
-Voice changes, hoarseness
Additional symptoms that may be associated with this disease:
-Drooling
-Muscle contractions
-Muscle spasms
-Ankle, feet, and leg swelling
-Weight loss
Investigations:-
-Electromyogram.
-Nerve conduction study.
-MRI.
-Blood and urine tests.
-Muscle biopsy.
Homoeopathic Treatment:-
Homoeopathic medicines have been very beneficial in ALS. Very good results can be obtained, where the quality of life have been improved tremendously. Fasciculation, Muscular coordination in spasticity has been restored in general patients have been able to get up and move about also after the Homoeopathic treatment. Homoeopathic medicine is strongly recumbent for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis ALS.

Myopathy refers to a class of degenerative skeletal muscle disease that is not caused by nerve dysfunction. Myopathies cause progressive weakness and wasting away of skeletal muscles. The causes for Myopathies vary. They could be hereditary, an inflammatory response, or the result of an endocrine disorder. The different types of Myopathies are classified according to their causes.
Classification:-
Inherited forms: - 1. Muscular dystrophies
2. Myotonia
3. Congenital myopathies
4. Mitochondria myopathies
5. Metabolic myopathies
6. Inflammatory myopathies
Acquired forms: - 1. Drug induce myopathy
2. Toxic agent induced myopathy
3. Dermatomyositis
4. Polymyositis
Symptoms:-
Symptoms common among myopathies include weakness of the voluntary muscles of the arms, legs, and trunk, drooping upper eyelids, foot drop, facial weakness and lack of reflexes in the affected muscles. Some symptoms may be transitory.
Investigations:-
A blood test to measure the level of various muscle enzymes.
An electromyogram (EMG)— to gauge electrical activity in muscle
A biopsy of a weak muscle
Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) — to try to show abnormal muscle
Some patients may have a blood test for myositis-specific antibodies(immune proteins). This test helps detect myopathy
Treatments:-
Although there's no cure for myopathies, treatment can improve your muscle strength and function. The earlier treatment is started in the course of disease, the more effective it is, leading to fewer complications.
Corticosteroids are widely prescribed, but it has many adverse effects.
Homoeopathic medicine:-
The homoeopathic treatment of this condition is aimed at treating the symptoms and repairing the damage to the muscles of extremities. Medicines are used to treat the muscle damage and muscular weakness sensation of the affected extremities
These medications suppress your immune system, limiting the production of antibodies and reducing muscle inflammation, as well as improving muscle strength and function.
Homeopathy has reasonably good treatment to offer for myopathies, which works at two levels:
1. Controls further progress of disease
2. Improves the symptoms of pain, fatigue and mobility

A kidney stone is a hard mineral and crystalline material formed within the kidney or urinary tract. Kidney stones are a common cause of blood in the urine and often severe pain in the abdomen, flank, or groin. One in every 20 people develops a kidney stone at some point in their life.
The condition of having kidney stones is termed Nephrolithiasis or urolithiasis
Kidney stones form when there is a decrease in urine volume or an excess of stone-forming substances in the urine. The most common type of kidney stone contains calcium in combination with either oxalate or phosphate. Other includes uric acid and the amino acid cysteine.
Obstruction to the flow of urine can also lead to stone formation . Kidney stones can also result from infection in the urinary tract.
Men are especially likely to develop kidney stones, and whites are more often affected than blacks.
The prevalence of kidney stones begins to rise when men reach their 40s, and it continues to climb into their 70s.
People who have already had more than one kidney stone are prone to develop more stones.
A family history of kidney stones is also a risk factor for the development of kidney stones.
Homoeopathic treatment:-
Homeopathic treatment is a clinically proven therapy that breaks the stones in to small pieces and excrete them along with urine to exterior. The medicines cleanse out all urinary tracts.
The medicine also flushes out all dissolved particles and preventing microbial growth in the urinary tracts. Homeopathy also decreases recurrence of kidney stones. Homeopathic medication increases kidney resistance and resumes kidney function and allows them to naturally keep minerals dissolved in urine.

A ganglion is also referred as a Baker's cyst. A ganglion is a small cyst that contains a thick jelly-like material. It looks and feels like a smooth lump under the skin. It is not fully understood how they occur. It is usually attached to a joint or tendon, and the fluid inside is like a thicker version of the fluid which 'lubricates' the joint and tendon sheaths (synovial fluid).
The two common sites where they are found are on the back of the wrist and on the top of the foot next to the small joints. Other sites of the body are affected less commonly.
Symptoms of ganglion
* Mostly there won't be any symptom at all, except swelling.
* Swelling or mass in the wrist may vary in size from peanut size to golf ball size
* Sore pain or throbbing pain may occur while flexing the wrist
* There may be numbness in areas of that particular nerve when it gets compressed or affected
* Weakness of the fingers, when the corresponding supplying artery gets compressed
* Tender swelling of the ganglion may interrupt with the movements of the wrist; also swelling itself (even without pain) can restrict movement
Homeopathic approach to ganglion:-
Everyone knows well that Homeopathy treats tumours with medicines and not surgery. One such tumour is ganglion. It can be cured with Homeopathic medicines without any recurrences. But treatment should be followed till it subsides wholly or otherwise there will be recurrence as in other treatments.

Stammering medically means disorder of speech, where fluency of speech is affected with hesitations, involuntary pause(s) and repetition of words or prolongation of sounds. It is otherwise called as stuttering. Stammerers face difficulty while attending interviews, addressing the public, etc.
Incidences – Stammering seems to affect 2-5 per cent of children around the age of 5. It commonly affects boys more than girls. Also, its incidence is more common in the first born male child. The exact reason is unknown.
Causes – Generally, stammering as a disorder will not arise from physical problems or problems in understanding or intelligence. It seems to occur due to instability of the brain in correlating all the signals to trigger the vocal apparatus to produce effective speech. Since the exact point of origin cannot be located, causes are often supposed and not definite. Anxiety, nervousness, tension, fear, low-confidence, situations, knowledge of language, etc., are often blamed.
Symptoms –Symptoms of stammering vary from person to person. Stammerers may have a few or most of the following symptoms:
- Hesitation to speak
- Difficulty in finding a proper word – feels brain had been wired
- May stop in the middle of a speech to come to a standstill with fear, anxiety and tension
- Need more time to complete speech or could not finish it
- Loss of control over speech
- Swallow words often
- Words/speech come in parts
- Repeating the same words or using unnecessary words often
- While worrying more about it, it causes more and more problems
- Repetition of initial consonants especially with vowels - A, E, I, O, U
- Felt as if vocal cord gets tightened with prolongation of sounds especially with sounds of A, P, S, T, V, X
- Usually try to avoid eye contact (to whom they speak) to avoid stammer
- Speak fluently when emotionally relaxed
Complications – Stammering, if left untreated in the initial stages, often causes inevitable complications at the emotional level. It can reflect in the personality, behaviour, self-esteem and social interactions. Stammerers often feel ashamed, worthless and guilty to appear in public which can affect their career.
General treatment – There is no known specific treatment in Allopathy for stammering. They totally depend on speech therapy and behaviour therapy for management. They advise parents to provide good attention and support to the sufferer to build confidence to root out fear, nervousness and anxiety.
Homeopathic approach – Even though modern system of medicines claims that stammering cannot be cured altogether with medicines and can only be managed with behavioural and speech therapy, Homeopathy can provide very good relief for stammerers. Homeopathic medicines can support, set right and correlate one’s mind, nerves and vocal apparatus to reduce pause or stammer in course of time.
Stammering, as a complaint, needs to be treated at the earliest to cope with the situation. One should

Excessive sweating is considered as a medical. Excessive sweating is referred to as hyperhidrosis. It is a condition where the body excretes sweat in certain areas and in higher quantities than expected.
Doctors regard excessive sweating or hyperhidrosis as an inherited condition. It can affect a patient in many ways, including altering his or her social relationships, personal confidence and emotional levels.
Hyperhidrosis can either be generalized or localized to specific parts of the body. Hands, feet, armpits, and the groin area are among the most active regions of perspiration due to the relatively high concentration of sweat glands; however, any part of the body may be affected.
Medications
Antidepressant and anxiolytic drugs are often commonly used by allopathy, which produced drug dependency and have several side effects. And surgical procedure like endoscopic thoracic sympathectomy (ETS) can be done. Which are quite expensive.
Many more that suffer from sweating problems have found their cure for hyperhidrosis in the form of a natural homeopathic treatments that have helped many break free from profuse sweating or hyperhidrosis.
Homeopathic way of treatment is different from allopathy. Hyperhidrosis is nothing but an expression of the disturbance in the inner hormonal balance and this is expressed in the form of the profuse discharge. Hence, it is required to be treated at the inner level rather than treating it by local application of cream and antibiotics.
Homeopathy treats the person as a whole. It means that homeopathic treatment focuses on the patient as a person as well as his pathological condition. The homeopathic medicines are selected after a full individualizing examination and case analysis, which includes the medical history of the patient, physical and mental constitution and so on.
Homeopathy provides natural constitutional remedies for treating this condition from the roots and not just working on the symptom but repairs the derangement which is causing this. It offers excellent treatment which is effective, harmless, and without any side effects. It is recommended in the most obstinate cases.
Today homeopathic remedies are the best non surgical solution for hyperhidrosis or profuse sweating or perspiration.
